Hi all i've got an N plate polo which has an immobiliser prob
the key is 'nt fitting in the lock exactly so think i need a new ignition system
plus the key reader loop around where the key goes in-do i need the ecu as well?
help!!!!!!!

Hello Rob
When you say that the key won't go in, it sounds as if either you have a faulty ignition barrel, or the wrong key!
In either case, all that you require is a new barrel or the correct key.
You may think that I'm joking when I say wrong key, but that would also account for the immobiliser not working!
Should you need a new reader coil, on your model, it just slips off of the steering column, once the steering wheel has been removed, but do read the workshop manual before attempting to remove the steering wheel.
The good news is that, if the fault is just as you describe it, you will not need a new ignition system, or E.C.U.
