Hi I don't know if this suggestion is valid in your case.   My last car was a Toyota which displayed a lighted    'filter' pictogram on the instrument panel.  I phoned several dealers to enquire as to what it meant.  In every case they expressed 'wonder' at this phenomenon and suggested I bring in the car for them to have a look at (?).
Instead I called up the chap who had done the oil change and was informed that this light comes on when the service has not been through the official Toyota computer and that there was no problem with my filter.
If I took it in to Toyota the computer would switch it off.
On the face of it I'd call it a nice little earner.
