Electrical Problems....

Hi all

I'm new here and I hope someone is able to give me some guidance here...


Ok the model is a 1984 polo C


My problem is that the dashboard lights do not seem to work, nor does the fan control.

I took the dash appart and it seems that all the wires look ok, and the bulbs have not blown.
Fuses look good too.

my main priority atm is getting the dash lights working, as I need that for it to pass it's MOT which is due soon.


If anyone can help i'd most appreciate it, even better if you have a wiring diagram that can help guide me.

How very odd... Have you checked that the bulb holders aren't corroded as that can prevent them from lighting up.  If you're not sure, unplug the bulbs, give them a rub with some fine sandpaper and put the bulbs back in, sometimes works.  Same with any connectors as they may be a bit fuzzed up.  I've had this problem with the rear number plate lights, the interior light and I think the heater control light as well.  Apart from that, if everything checks out I'm not sure what to suggest, car electrics are funny things.
