oil filler cap

When the car is on tick over after starting i take off the oil filler cap and it has white stuff on it like water has mixed with the oil. but it isnt on the dipstick and it isnt on the filler cap when its had a good run any ideas of what it could be??

Moisture in the oil - often caused by condensation from short runs or head gasket failing/failure.
Does your polo do lots of short runs so the engine does get up to temperature?

No it does atleast 200 miles aday but doesnt do it then but only when i first start it up.
