1996 Special Edition Polo

Hello all,
my first posting, I've really joined the forum to ask a few questions about a relative's Polo. They are wondering if it is worth keeping, or tarding in for something newer (i.e less interesting!). I know very little about Polos, so I'm hoping you people can help!

The car is 1996, 1.4, it seems to be some sort of special edition (I've not seen any the same for sale on autotrader). It has Wolfrace alloys and a full lengh opening roof, which is electric and folds up, concertina style.

It only has 50,000 on the clock, FSH, one owner. In very good condition apart from some rust on a door skin and few dinks on tailgate.

Can anyone give an idea what it might be worth? Does it have any collector status?

How easy / hard /cost of getting a new door skin put on? Thanks very much in advance for any replies.
