54 Reg VW Polo 1.4 Match Offside Mirror Removal

Hi

Can anyone tell me how to remove the offside wing mirror glass from a 54 reg 1.4 Polo Match ?

It has electric mirrors and at the moment the offside mirror does not move left and right (only up and down) I am not sure if the mechanism has become disconnected or is broken but would like to take a look if I can remove the mirror.

I did notice that when the mirror selection switch on the door is on the R hand mirror the left and right movement moves the nearside mirror ??  Any advice from experienced owners would be welcomed.

There is a special tool (80-200) for removing the mirror glass - chances are that the glass will break if you don't use the tool, but you could remove the door panel to check/clean connections.
