Polo 1.4 CL Petrol V Reg Idle Control Valve

Hi new to the forum and found you via a link from the Haynes website!
Our polo stalls as you slow down. I have been told to clean the idle control valve.
Please can some kind person tell me how to locate it and what to do if poss.

Hi
Sounds like you need to clean the throttle body and butterfly as this also is the idle stabilisation valve on most of the MK4 models - just use normal carburettor cleaning spray
BUT
you need to perform a throttle body re-alignment after, for which you need access to VW Diagnostic Computer tools or someone with a copy of VAG-COM
