Hello, I am contacting you to find info on a Polo 1.9 SDI 53 plate. It has done 90k without fault but now it's got a serious problem with the alternator drive belt tensioner. The idle pulley has sheared off x4 and the garage cannot find any reason why. Does the alternator pulley have a one way bearing in it? Has anybody reported a similar fault? Am desperate to resolve the problem... I have even had a new cam belt fitted which reduced the low end idle vibration but this does not affect the alternator? The drive belt runs around the bottom pulley, alternator and air con. All appear in line and free running? Please can you advise...

Anyone with any ideas can contact Bryan Harrison at bryan_harrisonuk@yahoo.co.uk
