Hi All, I guess this is a common problem with the polo. The drivers side wiper spindle has seized in its carrier and I have been trying to remove the linkage and motor, to no avail. There must be a knack to it. The void in which it sits is very tight. I have removed the wipers, washers, seals and the  two linkage mounting bolts and it all seems loose apart from the motor which sems to be fixed loosely from behind. Can anbody please give me some pointers on how to remove it all so I can get to work on sorting the seizure?

FYI.
The only way to remove the linkage is to detatch it from the motor in situ (easier said than done).
