Over chocked on startup

Polo 2001 1.4, seems to be over chocked on startup and sometimes cuts out until warm, still lumpy on tick over even when warm, changed plugs and not showing any fault codes, can any one help please.

Have you cleaned and then re-aligned the throttle body?

Dont really know what the throttle body is could you possibly elaborate please.

modern sort of equivalent of a carb - basically motorised throttle butterfly.  Need VAG-COM to realign after cleaning with carb cleaner.
