Hello all
been trying to fix the nephews Mk2 1.3 coupe all this week its got me confused  Huh           i have no spark at the plugs
i have replaced the coil ,cap, points, condenser rotor arm too and swapped the leads from my polo to his !!
i have a spark at the points then no further Huh
erm a bit stuck as to what i can 

Can anyone give us a clue

Hello Dave

As you mention points i'm guessing we are talking about a 1984/5 Polo with HK Engine (rocker finger)Huh?

The HT leads on those have a different connection type to that of the later cars which have pins in the ht terminals - have you got a matching set of dizzy cap and lead type?

opps forgot about this post
The problem was the dizzy earthing itself through the centre spindle!!
removed the spindle guide and it run ok till it wore the cap out
replaced the complete  distributor assembly and she fired up straight away !!
