Hi, I'm a newbie here without a Haynes manual so can anybody help?  The rear numberplate lights on my Mk4 Polo hatchback are not working.  Can anybody tell me how to get at the lamps? I have tried to lever the fitting out with a small screwdriver but whilst I can get 1 of them loose I cant figure out how to get the fitting right out of the bumper without damaging it so I can see the lamp. Is there a lip or hook which needs to be squeezed or moved a particular way?  Hope someone can help?

PS, I think its a Mk4 (R reg 1.4L)!!

According to the WSM there is a recess on one long side of the lamp, put a flat blade screwdriver, and press the clip in and lever the light out.
