VW factory information The Volkswagen Polo has been produced in many of VW’s factories across Europe; mainly in Wolfsburg, Germany, and, since 1982, in Pamplona, Spain, where the Polo was initially produced under licence. Members of the VW Polo Register have visited the Wolfsburg factory on a number of occasions, as well as other VW factories in Hanover, Kassel, and Salzgitter. The Autostadt (http://www.autostadt.com/) in Wolfsburg is well worth a visit, and it is possible to gain a look inside the factory on a special bus tour from the Autostadt complex itself. The original VW AutoMuseum is still located in Wolfsburg, too: http://automuseum.volkswagen.de/ If you wish to visit Wolfsburg, it is within a day's driving distance from the Hook of Holland. Alternatively, consider flying with one of the low cost airlines, and hiring a car on arrival to explore the many Volkswagen sites. We recommend allocating at least one day to see all of Autostadt, and half a day for the AutoMuseum. We have no affiliation with the companies below, but have used them when planning our own Volkswagen sight-seeing trips. |
